Association information

For the FNMS, on-street and in-building parking plays a growing role in the implementation of mobility policies through its active contribution to the management of public space and the quality of life in the city, through its capacity to provide diversified services to the city and through the improvement, supported by digital tools, of the customer journey.

For the FNMS, on-street and in-building parking increasingly makes it possible, through the adaptability of the technical, service and contractual solutions offered, to provide precise and adapted responses to the mobility needs of communities of all sizes.

The mission of the FNMS is to encourage and promote the activities of its members related to parking and more generally to mobility.

To this end, it ensures:

  • provide professional information likely to guide or facilitate their actions
  • facilitate exchanges and cooperation between its members
  • facilitate and encourage studies, research and innovation in its field of intervention
  • and generally, to study all professional, economic, social or technical questions which interest its members.

As a sector involved in a large ecosystem and at the heart of mobility issues, the FNMS works with public authorities to:

  • defend the interests of its members
  • represent its members to public authorities
  • manage institutional relations with other professional bodies
  • provide its support and resources to the organization of all events and publications likely to achieve its objectives

The FNMS was born in March 2004 from the desire of the players in the parking sector to speak with one voice by bringing together two existing associations, Parkopolis, an association founded ten years previously bringing together mixed economy parking companies (SEMs) and Syncoparc, National Union of Public Parking Lot Concessionaires, created in 1980 bringing together private operators.

This desire to bring people together continued in 2020 with the integration, within the FNMS, of the Association of Promoters and Operators, which brought together only the Parisian concession operators.
