TagMaster RFID system secures Jorge Chavez International Airport
TagMaster North America, Inc. announced their RFID system has been recognized as instrumental in the enhanced security at Perus largest airport, Jorge Chavez International Airport (JCIA) in Lima. As part of the Intellisoft Parking solution, TagMaster North America increased security by providing a hands-free Automatic Vehicle Identification (AVI) system.
At JCIA, airport catering concessionaires are billed for each vehicles runway access based on the duration of stay in the aircraft area. The existing process required labor-intensive visual observation and hand calculation of each vehicles entry and exit of the runway area which led to identification errors and long billing cycles while calculations were reviewed and verified. The airport was challenged with improving collection of data to properly calculate vehicle duration in the aircraft area and accurately bill each catering company. Intellisoft Parking was tasked with providing a solution for vehicle access control for catering concessionaires servicing aircraft.
Intellisoft Parking partnered with TagMaster North America to provide a combination of LR6 long range RFID readers and read/write ScriptTags to accurately identify vehicles as they enter and exit secure aircraft areas. This system ensures 100% accurate vehicle identification and length-of-stay reporting to eliminate vehicle billing disputes. Intellisofts full solution, integrated with Federal APDs ScanNet Management Software and SAP billing database, created a fully automated billing solution resulting in increased billing accuracy.
Access control to the secure area of the airport and the data collection process has been dramatically improved at the Lima airport, eliminating visual observation and hand calculation tasks and significantly reducing customer billing claims. The end result is an automated solution that improves business processes while increasing customer satisfaction.
